The Art of Photography Show Presents Charlotte Cotton
This will be a "must see" presentation for collectors of photography as well as artists
When: Sunday, August 30th at noon
Charlotte Cotton, author of The Photograph as Contemporary Art, one of the most well-used introductions to the field, will be talking and discussing the scope of contemporary art photography and also the trends and challenges for this sphere of photography. In 2007, Charlotte started the on-line and live debate project Words Without Pictures - a year-long project that explored new and pressing developments concerning photographic practice. Over 90 artists, curators, bloggers and photographers contributed to this project, recently published as a 500-page print-on-demand book. Charlotte will summarize some of the most relevant themes of Words Without Pictures, in relation to the Art of Photography Show 2009 as well as describe her curatorial decisions for this year's exhibition selection.
